ADA Technologies Begins Commercial Production
of WeatherPod™ Technology

DENVER (January 13, 2006): ADA Technologies has begun commercial production of its WeatherPod™ technology, a cutting-edge method of obtaining critical weather and environmental information from remote areas worldwide.

Weighing less than 2 pounds, the WeatherPods are easily and rapidly deployable in a “network” that senses and transmits real-time data, including wind speed, temperature and humidity, as well as the exact geographic location and orientation of the WeatherPod units. When equipped with additional sensors, the WeatherPods also are able to sense the presence of toxins and radiation in the environment. The data are transmitted via wireless satellite communication and can be downloaded to computers anywhere in the world.

Under development since 2000, the WeatherPod technology research was originally focused solely on providing information that would help military leaders make decisions related to battlefield plans and troop deployment. Over the course of its development, however, the system has also proven useful to civilian emergency responders for emergency evacuation planning and for gathering critical weather information to assist in fighting wildfires.

WeatherPods also are being used on commercial container ships to measure sea-surface temperature along with meteorological parameters.
